Christian Workout Music Playlist

September 14, 2021

Need some new tunes to add to a pumping Christian workout music playlist? I got you!

Exercise is something that is super important in my life. I’m a NASM-Certified Personal Trainer, Nutritionist (and soon to be Sports Nutritionist), and Behavior Change Specialist. Loving and respecting my body has become a huge part of my life, and a pivotal moment in my journey as a Christian – something I’ll share someday.

But I truly believe in the importance of treating our body like a temple.

1 Corinthians 6:19-20 (ESV) tells us, “Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body.”

And yes, while a great deal of that verse is talking about sexual immorality, I also read that to mean I should take care of my body in everything I do.

I should honor this body that was created in the image of God and paid for by his only son so that I could have everlasting life. It means paying attention to the foods I choose to feed this body, the way I choose to move it, the way I nourish it, and talk to it, and view it.

It means paying attention to the thoughts I let take up space in my mind, and how I honor every aspect of this physical being. Because at the end of the day, my body is a precious gift from God.

God wouldn’t look at Himself in the mirror and criticize his thighs. He wouldn’t sit in front of the TV pigging out on nachos – at least not every single night. He would find ways to keep it healthy – just like we should.

But I also get that sometimes, finding the motivation to get up and do those things we know we’re supposed to do, is difficult. That’s where discipline comes into play, and honestly guys – this post could go on for days, ha!

Something I’ve found that helps get me out of my chair and away from my computer and actually moving this body and honoring it through movement – is finding a good playlist.

I’ve been on the hunt for the best Christian workout songs and I’m pretty confident I’m off to a good start. Here are the tunes that have currently been filling my ears and my home gym as of lately.
