November 5, 2022

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! And if you’re anything like the rest of the world, you’ve already been getting in the Christmas spirit since October! So you should be well prepared for this post šŸ˜‰

In honor of my favorite holiday and the birth of our Lord, and.. with the unknown looming ahead of “goods stuck on cargo ships” I thought – what better way to support fellow Christians, small businesses, and buy the people we love some super thoughtful gifts than highlighting some Christian-owned small businesses?

I’ve scoured the internet and thrown in a few of my personal favorites. While you’re crossing items off your list don’t neglect some of these amazing Faith-Based businesses.

And also – I always love an iced coffee so feel free to add me to your shopping list šŸ˜‰ KIDDING!

Rosy Cheeks Lettering

Rosy Cheeks Lettering is a small Etsy shop selling hand painted Bibles. Her designs embrace the beauty in earthly elements created by God, and they’re simply stunning. She has multiple different Bibles to choose from, and 10% of every order goes to support Compassion International.

I’ve actually ordered a similar design with a different verse for myself as an early Christmas gift to.. me šŸ˜‰

She Who Is Apparel

She Who Is Apparel is a female-owned business that strives to empower women through the clothes we wear. She has a pretty amazing story that you can read more about here.

Not only does She Who Is carry some pretty trendy clothing pieces, but they also partner with a different women’s charity each month to give back to women in need.

Definitely check out She Who Is, and use code NATASHAFUNDERBU to save 15% on anything you order! Full disclosure, I am a brand ambassador and I earn a small commission for every sale made through my link or with my discount code. This doesn’t cost you any extra, and even though listing affiliate links is NEW to this website, my goal is to donate a portion of all affiliate commissions to Compassion International.

Rooted and Grounded

Rooted and Grounded is a site I stumbled upon purely by accident; I was Googling a particular scripture and they happened to pop up. Owned by a husband and wife, they strive to produce home decor and goods that inspire. They have the cutest seasonal and year round decor, as well as Christian apparel, journals, and more.

Truly Simply Healthy

Shameless Plug. Truly Simply Healthy is MY personal brand. I may be a blogger during my free time, but my main gig is actually geared toward wellness.

My goal? Is to empower others to take control of their health, happiness, and life.

I’m living proof of what it means to grow up with unhealthy food habits. I was overweight most of my life, and suffered from a binge eating disorder for years.

I yo-yoed between bingeing, and starving myself in desperate attempts to lose weight. And even if it worked for a short time, I always gained the weight back. Often more.

It wasn’t until I started to understand that I was worthy of taking care of myself, that I began to make a difference.

So now.. I coach women 1:1 and also create bootcamps, programs, and courses that will empower women to learn how to embrace healthy living and make it SIMPLE for their own lifestyle, all while seeing and achieving sustainable results.

Other Noteworthy Businesses:

A Book Well Loved is an online, gently pre-owned/used bookstore (featuring some new items, as well!) ABWL’s mission is to give back as much as possible by donating a portion of all sales to children’s reading and education programs.

Emilie Gets Crafty is an Etsy shop that sells all sorts of cute handmade gifts; shirts, stickers, bags, drinking cups, and more!

Fringe & Free is a faith-forward, high-quality handmade home goods business out of Texas.Ā This business is named after the woman in the synoptic gospel who believed if she could just touch the fringe of Jesus Christ’s robe then she would be freed (healed).Ā

The Anchored Abode sells Christian items including a family Bible plan series. Each book in the series is broken down into a 6 month study and is great for personal use, in group studies, or for churches.

Healthy As You Can sells digital items such as Bible coloring pages, meal planners, and more.

Lori Beth Design on Etsy sells scripture cards, Bible verse decor, and prayer guides

Following His Ways makes faith based apparel that comes with material on how to witness to others.

Amanda Fey is a life transformation and relationship coach (and also a friend and contributor on our site!) who offers 1:1 coaching for women wanting to overcome heartbreak and walk in wholeness.

Script and Scriptures is an Etsy shop that creates Bible bookmarks and cute hair scrunchies.

Sparrows x Wildflowers is another Etsy shop specializing in custom painted Bibles. You can choose from one another created, or order completely custom. Her pre-painted Bibles were inspired by real life women who experienced a radical change in their life and turned their hearts over to God. I bought one of her Bibles (custom) for my mom for Mother’s Day and it was absolutely beautiful.

Dwell Differently Another women-owned business, Dwell Differently helps you memorize scripture in the cutest ways: scripture cards, mugs, bracelets, wall art, stickers, and more.

Know of a Christian-owned business not mentioned? Please comment or link it below so we can add to this list!! I’d love to double, triple, or quadruple the size of this list for next year!

Every single person you meet was created by, and l Every single person you meet was created by, and loved by God.

Even the ones who have hurt you.

Next time you’re tempted to act out in anger, or envy, or hurt.. stop for a moment and think.. how would Jesus behave in this situation?

Learning to respond to others for who they are rather than what they’ve done… or the emotion their actions have triggered in you, will bring you peace and freedom.

I was recently gifted the book, Grit Don’t Quit: I was recently gifted the book, Grit Don’t Quit: Developing Resilience and Faith When Giving Up Isn’t an Option, by Bianca Juarez Olthoff. And it couldn’t have come into my life at a better time.

I think we’ve all gone through times in our life when failure has threatened to keep us down. When getting back up after yet another fall feels seemingly impossible.

And I hate to break it to you, but we will all face failure at some point in our lives. Sometimes repeatedly. But the really amazing thing about failure is that it give us options:

We can either let failure destroy our confidence and our faith and keep us from living up to our full potential.

Or we call view failure as another chance.

Embracing failure is a concept that may be difficult to adopt at first, but when we can view failure as a learning opportunity and quickly get back up on our feet, we win. It’s also a chance to turn to God and say hey.. here’s my weakness. And it’s only through our weaknesses that we can turn to God and find His strength.

So.. are you going to change the way you view failure? Or are you going to let it hold you back?

"For I know the plans I have for you,ā€ declares "For I know the plans I have for you,ā€ declares the Lord, ā€œplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." - Jeremiah 29:11 NIV

"This verse isn’t promising that bad things won’t happen. It simply reminds us nothing can touch us when we live in Christ Jesus. We might experience loss and hardship, but our ultimate destination is heavenly perfection.

So today, if you are living consumed with fear, practice surrender.

Take a deep breath and know that no matter what, you are loved and you will be ok.

God is Big Enough to hold our biggest hurts and make them beautiful."

God had already been speaking to me for some time God had already been speaking to me for some time about how my desire to control the details and direction of my life was getting in the way of my trust in Him and my submission to Him.

The fear of not being in control had stolen my contentment, joy, and peace. So many opportunities and relationships had been strangled or suffocated due to the struggle for control.

The Lord had been directing me to practice putting my full trust in Him.

While I used to spend much of my energy worrying and controlling, God began teaching me to put all of that effort into trusting Him instead.

Friends, as I look back over my life, I cannot think of one time that I regret surrendering to God and yielding control to Him. Was it difficult and painful? Indeed it was.

Did I take it back untold times, having to surrender again and again? You bet.

But this I’ve discovered: as we lean into our powerlessness and His sovereignty, we experience new levels of freedom and joy.

Once upon a time, I would have thought that losing control was the worst thing that could happen to me. Now I know that releasing it was what I needed most.

Prayer: Holy Spirit, help me to yield this new area of control to you– I surrender myself and all of my brokenness. Guide me and remind me each day to put my full effort into trusting You.
