Leslie Bake grew up in suburban Des Moines, Iowa. She learned the Gospel message at a young age. Her faith blossomed at Bible Camps and then later at Campus Crusade for Christ movements at the University of Northern Iowa and Iowa State University. She started writing publicly for the Northern Iowan student newspaper, and then began writing about her faith experiences as a columnist at the Iowa State Daily. She then worked as a journalist for three years at small town newspapers. The Lord then led her to pursue an MFA in creative nonfiction at Chatham University in Pittsburgh. She has always felt called to write what the Lord is teaching her about how to live out her faith within community, church and family. Currently Leslie and her husband live in West Des Moines and are the parents of a fourth- grader and a kindergartner. As a stay-at-home mom, she loves studying the Bible so that she can help make it meaningful and relevant to others and seeks out every opportunity she can to further the Gospel through her blog and other publications. She eventually plans to publish a memoir where she describes her faith journey.
