I remember when Covid 19 first hit in 2020; it was a challenging period for the world. On one of those days, my family had our usual morning devotion and my husband shared from the book of Psalms 46:1-5.
“1God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
3 Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High.
5 God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early.“
It was such a beautiful moment of sharing that day and the scripture blessed and encouraged me. I remember that I was so excited that I wrote an article about it on my blog.
That Psalm remains my go-to Psalm in times of challenge. It has a way of dissipating every fear and providing comfort. And that’s exactly what God’s word does. It provides hope, comfort, and encouragement.
Personally, when I go through any challenge, the first thing that I want to think about is a word from the scripture, which I can hold onto, during the season. God’s word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path.
