What God Says About Me

I would have thought that insecurities and self-doubt were things that I slowly outgrew the older I became. Only with a world far immersed in social comparison, I’ve found the opposite to be true.

Because if we’re not careful, we can start to let the volume of the world drown out the one and only voice we should be listening to. We scroll endless curated feeds finding ourselves comparing what we have or don’t have to the perfect smile staring back at us on the screen. And then we start to believe the lies that we’re not good enough. That we’ll never be successful enough, pretty enough, thin enough. Good enough.

But you know what? God speaks a different truth. God’s voice is not the voice of the world. The world may try to tell us that we’re flawed or unlovable, but God reminds us every single day that we are His. Precious, unique, and utterly cherished. We just have to be open to hearing Him.

I won’t lie; it’s not always easy. Some days, the world’s deafening sounds are loud and persistent. But every time I choose to surrender my doubts, I find a piece of healing. I’ve come to see that my identity is not molded by the opinions of others, but by the One who created me with purpose. I’m on a journey of growth, and every step I take in faith, I’m learning to trust what God says about me rather than what the world insists I believe.

If you’ve ever struggled with the lies that have been fed to you by this world, I encourage you to take a moment today. Remember, you are not your failures, and you are far more than your scars. You are a child of God, designed for hope, purpose, and a future filled with His grace.

Check out You Are More Than You’ve Been Told by Hosanna Wong. One of my favorite books from this past year that talks about this very topic.

Scriptures to Remind What God Says About Me (and You)

  1. John 1:12 – “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God…”
  2. Romans 8:16 – “The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God.”
  3. Galatians 3:26 – “For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.”
  4. 1 John 3:1 – “Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God…”
  5. Ephesians 2:10 – “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works…”
  6. Psalm 139:14 – “I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made…”
  7. 1 Peter 2:9 – “But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people…”
  8. Isaiah 43:1 – “Fear not, for I have redeemed thee…”
  9. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature…”
  10. Philippians 4:13 – “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”

Embrace these truths, and let God’s voice be louder than the world’s. You are loved, you are chosen, and you are exactly as He created you.
