Introducing Made: Modern Christian Apparel
In case you haven’t been following our socials or subscribe to our newsletter, this year we introduced a sister brand to Salt + Sparrow called Made.
The idea for Made. came to me a little over a year ago, when I was lying in bed unable to fall asleep. It was one of those nights where I was struggling internally with all the regular culprits: body image, shame, low self-esteem, low worth.. upset about the way I looked, my abilities, shortcomings – you name it.
Out of nowhere, one word popped into my head. Made. My mind was then flooded with scriptures, quotes, and reminders that tell us exactly who and whose we are.
Made in His image.
Made for more.
Made for such a time as this.
Fearfully and wonderfully made.
Stop focusing on who the world tells us to be and instead focus on who God created us to be.
Made ministry.
I Am Made.
Those were all thoughts that were flooding in (and if you could see my notebook, you’d see the same things scribbled down quickly as they were coming to me).
Over the course of the next few weeks, I continued to play with these thoughts. I also started seeing posts while scrolling social media that fit this theme – reminding me of God’s intent of our creation. That He counted and knew every hair on our head before we were even born.
So I knew there was a message here. I just didn’t know how or what I should be doing with all of it. At first I thought maybe it would be a coaching business – but I already have that with Align, and didn’t feel like I was supposed to change that direction – while similar in intent, it didn’t need a name change.
Fast forward a year and one day I found myself accidentally creating a business. I laughingly say accidentally because I had no plans or intentions for what I was doing – I can’t even honestly remember how it started. But before I knew it, almost 12 hours had passed and I had my first designs and business plan ready to go.
I remember staring at the clock and at my computer screen in shock – wondering where the time had gone and how this had happened.
But – that’s how Made. began.

What is Made.?
Made. is a Christian apparel store featuring graphic tees, sweatshirts, accessories, and gifts/some home goods. Currently, we have apparel items for men, women, and children. The goal is to provide faith-based, positive, and uplifting messages that encourage and empower everyone to know that we are children of God. My hope with the brand is that it uplifts and inspires, while also striking conversations about Jesus.
I wanted to feature designs that are fun and trendy while instilling confidence in anyone who wears them.

What inspired you to start a Christian apparel line?
Well at first I didn’t know that’s what Made. would become. But I’ve had experience in apparel brands in the past; in 2017 I opened an online boutique called Harper & Sky, which quickly evolved into an activewear brand. We sold the business in 2020 and while I don’t regret it, there’s been a big part of me that feels like something has been missing since then.
How do you approach designing clothes that reflect faith?
The goal behind the designs from an aesthetic purpose is to provide modern and trendy graphic apparel that anyone from any age group will feel excited and confident about wearing. From a deeper standpoint, I want our clothing to uplift and inspire while striking conversations about Jesus.
What core message do you hope people feel when wearing your apparel?
I want them to be reminded that their worth is found in God. That they were created on purpose for a purpose – and that God made no mistakes when He created us.

What has been the most rewarding experience with this brand so far?
One of my goals behind the business is to partner with a different faith-based organization each quarter. Our first organization is the 1024 Movement – they provide resources and suicide prevention to adolescents, teens and college-age kids across the country. A portion of all sales this quarter will be donated to the 1024 Movement. Their about: “We move young people (ages 10-24) away from suicide, anxiety & depression.. And, towards hope, healing & hearing from God.”
How do you decide on messages or verses for your designs?
My goal is to include messages and verses that uplift and remind us who and whose we are. You may find some familiar verses in our collection and you may find some that aren’t as “popular” mainstream. But the goal of the message is the same.
We have a handful of different collections on the site (holiday themed, seasonal, etc.) but we also have four core collections that feature scriptures and quotes relevant to the collection: Encouraged, Called, Invited, and Defined. Those are the four main categories that I feel we all need reminded of – our worth, our identity, our calling – all of it can be found through Christ.

What makes your apparel unique in the Christian fashion industry?
I think the message and goal behind our business is what sets us apart and makes us unique.
Do you collaborate with other Christian creators or organizations?
Yes! Collaboration is always something I’m a big advocate for. I’ve been in the blogging and digital space for the past decade, and have been a coach for years, too. No matter the business – collaboration is something that should be considered. It’s a way to help get your name out, empower other business owners, and find community.
What vision do you have for the future of your brand?
I want to see it grow – but I want to see it grow for the right reasons. I’m excited to partner with. more amazing organizations and hopefully do our part to make a positive impact.
What’s something you wish everyone understood about confidence?
Confidence is a skill, not a trait. We have to practice being confident. But true confidence doesn’t lie in worldly things. Instead, true confidence comes from our Creator
What makes you feel inspired or like your best self?
Knowing that I’ve made a positive impact in someone else’s life. Even if it’s in the smallest way.
If you could turn back the time and talk to your 18-year old self, what would you tell her?
To not lose sight of the light.
What’s your favorite Bible Verse?
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33 NIV
